[In Engine Clip] - Halloween Updates
As this is a horror game, I had to do SOMETHING for Halloween, even if it is absolutely miles away from any kind of release :(
So here's a new vid showcasing some fairly small changes that make a fairly big difference I think:
1. The ability to turn on lights to better illuminate rooms.
Eventually I envisage this to have am 'X' chance of blowing the breaker whenever you turn on a light. This will be an important mechanism to deter the Demon who (when I code it) will avoid well light rooms/lights. Also light will be important to allow exploration where certain things will be unsolvable/unreadable without light. I am tempted to remove the torch and go with a more disposable light source for the player to ensure this consideration is taken when exploring. And that should they blow the fuse when miles away from the breaker, their odds of survival decrease.
2. Dust particles in certain rooms.
This is mildly expensive on the computation side, but I feel adds a small but noticeable improvement to how the environment feels.
3. More window ambient sounds, less background music. I don't want the BG loop to be on permanently, instead fading in and out at intervals or when triggered. Instead, to avoid complete silence I fixed footstep sounds again (though they still sound horrible) and added some ambient creaking/noises in certain parts of the house. This is a first cut so more tweaks on that to come.
Anywho thanks and comments/likes are always welcome. Happy Halloween ^^
